Dr. Lenneal J. Hendersen, Guest Lecturer from the Fielding Graduate University, School of Educational Leadership and change, delivered a public lecture on “Leadership: Research, Action and Rethinking Education” at Unity University Gerji Campus on July 10, 2013.
Following the scholarly issues raised in the presenting the floor was open for discussion, whereby participants made interventions by way of raising pertinent questions, and forwarding constructive comments, to which Dr. Hendersen responded accordingly.
Dr. Arega Yirdaw, president of Unity University and CEO of MIDROC Ethiopia, in his closing remarks pointed out that the public lecture was a preliminary to a training programme planned to be conducted for instructors of the university which is believed to increase the quality of education delivered.
He also noted “If we need to upgrade the quality of education, what we need to do is to improve the quality of instructors; and we would like Unity University to be an example in the country.”
Dr. Hendersen besides his rich profile he is involved in various areas of academic, non-academic, research and administrative activities commensurate with his wide area of studies and experience. As an international lecturer, his works have taken him to various countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle-east.
The public lecture was attended by invited guests, academic staff of the University and higher management bodies of the MIDROC Ethiopia Technology Group Companies.
